The goal of the study program

From business management to business informatics, you will deepen your knowledge of the analysis and development possibilities of agricultural companies in the international Master Farm Management. You analyze agricultural production in a practice-oriented manner and make international organizational and cost comparisons. The Master in Farm Management also provides for application-oriented project and team work at home and abroad.

Whether corporate or agro-economic consulting, agricultural and regional development concepts or applied research and development projects - our agricultural and management experts convince with solid professional knowledge and transnational competence after their studies at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences. Students of the agricultural science degree programs at HSWT benefit from the many years of professional and pedagogical expertise of our teaching staff.

The program is internationally oriented, with students from now eleven countries. Therefore, the courses are held in English.

Career Prospects as M.Sc. International Farm Management

After the Master's degree, you can take on the following management tasks - depending on the orientation of the previous Agriculture degree - after an induction period:

Management of larger agricultural enterprises
» Training & consulting
Management consulting, adult education
» Planning, implementation & assessment of agricultural projects or joint ventures
Design and planning of public and private sector projects in the agricultural sector at national and international level, business and macroeconomic assessment of projects, management of project implementation.
» Trade & Services
National and international agricultural trade, trade in livestock and meat, marketing, activities with market and price reporting agencies, accounting firms, in tax consultancy, with banks and insurance companies, product and sales consultancy in the relevant industry (plant protection, animal feed, fertilisers, agricultural technology, nutrition trade).
» Agricultural administration
Organisation and implementation of state support programmes, design and implementation of agricultural policy measures, cooperation with foreign institutions.
» Organisation, cooperatives, settlements
Clerical work in international organisations, professional associations, cooperatives, settlements, rural youth organisations; management of self-help organisations.





Admission to the Master's Programme International Farm Management

Certain admission requirements apply to the Master's degree programme International Farm Management. In the event that the number of qualified applicants exceeds the admission capacity set by the University of Applied Sciences, the selection is made by the examination board. The supplementary application documents are taken into account.

Admission Requirements for the 1st semester (practical semester)

For admission to the 1st semester (practical semester), you must fulfil the following qualification requirements:

  1. Particularly successful completion - at least the average grade "good" (according to German evaluation rules) - of a previous university degree in agricultural science. The examination board of the degree programme decides on exceptions after an informal application.
  2. Foreign applicants must also prove sufficient knowledge of the English language. Details are regulated in the Study and examination regulations.


Admission Requirements for the 2nd semester (1st theoretical semester)

For admission to the 2nd study semester (1st theoretical study semester), the following additional requirements must be met::

  1.  Proof of successful participation in a practical study semester or proof of recognition of other practical periods by the examination board. .
  2.  All applicants must prove sufficient knowledge in the production technology of plant and animal production. In the case of insufficient knowledge, corresponding compulsory elective modules must be taken in the 1st theoretical semester and the examinations must be passed successfully. Further details are regulated in the study plan.

Attention: Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:
- completed Bachelor or Diploma study course in the field of agriculture with
- final average overall grade of at least "good" (> 72%) in Bachelor or Diploma study course, and
- language certificate in English of at least B2 level (only if Bachelor was not in English)
  We accept language certificates from: TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, TELC, ESOL, CET, PTE Academic, UNIcert
